Every woman wants that charming look all the time but the
stress of Christmas can mess up the look on your face…you wouldn’t want that
soiled look on your pictures or before your guests. You may not find the time
to visit the spa or just maybe they have also gone on break. Yippee…nature has
got it! You can do those facials with the left over ingredients from your
kitchen.
Just before you get rid of those ingredients, see how you
can use it and their benefits for a glowing face.
Eggs: Just after
whisking those eggs, you can take out 1 or 2 tablespoons and apply on your
face. Sounds gross…but you are sure to get a healthy glow and reduced fine
lines. The credit goes to the lots of proteins in the eggs that nourish the
skin and tighten the pores. Apply on your face in upward motion and leave for
15 to 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
Lemon: Wait…before you throw that left over lemon away;
see how helpful it can be. It contains natural acids that gently remove dead
skin cells, lighten age spots, gets rid of unwanted freckles and clears facial discolorations.
It absorbs excess oil and cleans the pores without stripping the skin of its
natural oil balance. The Citric acid present in lemon helps in bleaching and
clarifying the skin. Squeeze out the juice from the lemon and dilute it with
some water. Apply it on the affected areas with cotton pad and leave for
15 minutes, and then wash off with clean and cold water.
Tomatoes: You
will find tomatoes in every kitchen almost every other day. As a good astringent,
it helps control excessive oiliness and reduces acne. It treats sunburns and
gives your face a radiant glow. Make into paste and apply on your face for
15 minutes. You can mix with honey.
Honey: Honey, as
sweet as it is, is very rich in antibacterial properties. It is a good
treatment for acne and it is packed full with antioxidants that slow down
aging. It clarifies the skin and enhances your complexion. Apply generously on your face for 15 to 30
minutes and wash. This leaves you with a soft and radiant facial look.
Milk: Milk is a
good cleanser; it removes excess oil and makeup. The lactic acid in it is a
form of Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) which is a good exfoliant. It softens the
skin, reduces wrinkles and improves the collagen and gives a bright look.
Potatoes: Potatoes have starch in them that heals damage
skin cells. The presence of Vitamin C in them clears and gently exfoliates the
skin. It is also used to clear the under eye dark circles, lighten dark skin
complexion and clear blemishes on the skin of your face. Make it into paste and
apply the mixture evenly all over the face.
Cucumber: The
all-purpose cucumber is a good natural toner that improves dull and greasy
complexion. As natural bleach too, it lightens the skin and makes it glow. It brightens
freckles, hydrates the skin, heals sunburns, and reduces wrinkles and pimples
scars. You can place slices of cucumber over your eyes to reduce puffiness and
get rid of dark circles. Apply cucumber juice on your face for 20 minutes and
allow to dry. Rinse off with water.
These ingredients can be combined too. Like potatoes and honey, milk and tomatoes and cucumber and eggs. It can give a great effect too!
Keep glowing!
